At the Foot of the Mountain: Erev Shavuot with Base!

May 16 @ 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Join Base Rabbinic Intern Benjy Forester, Chicago Millennial intern Caleb Bromberg, and kool kat Shula Ornstein as we welcome in Shavuot during a time of hopeful anticipation. Caleb will teach over Zoom, and Benjy & Shula will teach in-person at Gill Park, with some transition time for travel and settling in with song and snack. If you’re coming to the park, feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair. Masks and social distance required. Each will teach on different topics (more info on signup page), but with the intention that there be continuity between the sessions. Attendees may attend any or all of the program!

1pm- “It Is Heavy”: Midrash and The Torah as a Literal Physical Object with Caleb Bromberg on Zoom
1:45 – Local folks make their way to Gill Park in Lakeview
2:15 – Singing and snacks at the park
2:45 – May the Revelation be a Revolution: Thinking of Torah and Justice as Moments and Movements with Benjy Forester & Turning/Returning and the Book of Ruth with Shula Ornstein BOTH at Gill Park
