Christmas comedy at City Winery is back, and this year there’s a Chinese Food Buffet! After a two-year hiatus, Joel Chasnoff, producer and longtime host of Christmas For the Jews, returns with a new show. Unlike years past, where Joel hosted a lineup of local comedians, Joel will be performing his own hour-long stand-up set. Passover candy sales, El Al security guards, his short-lived stint on the Solomon Schechter basketball team and his year as a tank gunner in the Israeli army. If you’re a fan of Joel’s often absurd, always insightful take on Jewish life, this is the show for you! Joel Chasnoff is not your grandfather’s Jewish comedian! A Chicago native and veteran of Solomon Schechter Day School and Camp Ramah, Joel has performed his unique brand of Jewish stand-up for audiences in ten countries. Highlights: the Melbourne (Australia) and Montreal Just-For-Laughs Comedy Festivals, more than 500 clubs and colleges across North America, spots on Israeli late-night TV, and two off-Broadway shows.  Joel is the author of three books, including the comedic memoir The 188th Crybaby Brigade, about his experience as a combat soldier in the Israeli Army. His new book, Israel 201, will be released in March 2023.  Christmas For the Jews, which Joel produces and hosts, has been a City Winery favorite in New York and Chicago for more than ten years.
