JVP-Chicago Chanukkah 5780
December 20, 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Join us for our annual JVP-Chicago Chanukah Dinner!
We will gather around candle light to proclaim that we are still here, that we celebrate miracles, and that we are choosing light in a time of darkness.
This Chanukkah, we are sparking our imagination for a world without police, prisons, detention or deportations, without borders, without the Deadly Exchange of police training between the United States and Israel, and without massive spying and surveillance. A world where not a single child is criminalized, where childhood is not treated as a privilege…a world with #NoKidsInCages
Through a ritual of kindling our Chanukkah lights, we will face the darkness of fascism & white supremacy together, and rekindle our collective commitment to justice. We will let the world know that we are still here, and in the face of growing hatred our creativity & resilience is overflowing.
We are still here, and we are here in joy. More committed than ever to taking care of each other along the way!
All are welcome. Invite your friends & family!

A NOTE ON ACCESSIBILITY:
Our meeting location is accessible via public transit and for wheelchair users. We do not currently have an ASL interpreter scheduled to be there. However, we will work to provide ASL interpretation if you reach out within 72 hours of the event to let us know your needs.
We are not able to provide childcare, but children are welcome!
We are committed to making all of our events as accessible as possible for all who would like to attend and are always in a process of learning around what accessibility looks like for different people. If you have questions or requests related to accessibility not sufficiently addressed in this description, we encourage you to raise them by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
