Musical Tu Bishvat Seder 5782

January 16 @ 8:00 PM

In the depths of winter, when cold wind blows against bare branches, trees begin to look toward spring and, hidden beneath the surface, a new melody can be faintly heard. Hadar’s Rising Song Institute and the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History invite you to celebrate the New Year of the Trees by exploring the mystical world of Tu Bishvat through song!

Led by Rebekka Goldsmith and Batya Levine, and featuring musicians Jessie Reagen Mann and Rabbi Micah Shapiro, this unique musical ritual weaves together traditional elements of the kabbalistic Tu Bishvat seder with modern sonic interpretations and prayers.

We’re excited to try a new format for this year’s program, with all four artists co-creating a musical seder together from the NMAJH’s theater in Philadelphia, while folks tune in and participate from their homes around the world.
