On-Site & Online Program | Holocaust Education: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

September 11, 2022 @ 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Educating about how and why the Holocaust happened and the ongoing dangers of hatred are as necessary as ever. So how do educators teach about the Holocaust in a way that counters misconceptions and addresses common challenges?

Join Dr. Mark Gudgel as he answers these questions and shares lessons from his new book, ”Think Higher, Feel Deeper” – advice he once received from the late Elie Wiesel. In conversation with Kelley Szany, Senior Vice President of Education & Exhibitions (IHMEC), Gudgel will impart insights from over 18 years of teaching about the Holocaust in public schools, including obstacles facing teachers today, and trends in education.

Whether you are a classroom teacher, a parent or grandparent, a student, or simply curious about the state of Holocaust education today, this conversation is not to be missed.
