Sign up for Talmud for Everyone: Fourth Annual Base Cohort

November 12, 2021

Come one, come all! Learn Talmud in the original—no experience necessary! Join us in our mixed-level Beit Midrash for experienced Talmud learners, and folks who have never heard of Talmud before (plus everyone in between). Inspired by our friends and colleagues at SVARA: A Traditionally Radical Yeshiva, join us for Talmud learning in the original Hebrew and Aramaic! Traditional, queer, and radically inclusive, our learning community will examine deep questions of justice, Torah and who we are in the world!

Experienced Talmud learner? Sweet! Never studied Talmud? Great! Never even read Hebrew? No problem! If you’re committed to spend some time with a new alphabet, we’ll make sure you can conquer the rest! In our world, where injustice is everywhere and too many are judged unjustly, we can look to the wisdom of the past to brighten our future. We believe the ancient Rabbis wanted us to become brave and radical critical thinkers and people. We believe Talmud study can help us get there.

This class will be co-led by Rabbi Megan and Shula Ornstein!
