Getting Down to Basics: Understanding Mental Health
No Shame On U is hosting an interactive series on the causes, symptoms, and treatments of common mental health disorders.
Session Two: Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a noticeable increase in Depressive Disorders nationwide. Add to that the fact that Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is known to affect 10 million Americans every winter, with a likely surge in these incidences, as well. These conditions can disrupt daily life as depression symptoms set in during the darkness of winter months. Help yourself and help others. On January 13th, please join No Shame On U and Nina Henry, LCPC, CADC, of JCFS Chicago, to learn about mood disorders with a special focus on the signs, symptoms, effective treatments, skills, and self-care strategies to address SAD. Ms. Henry will also answer your questions and provide tips on how to manage these mental health challenges and will offer a menu of resources in the community.
