VSWOW Hafrashat Challah Women’s Event

March 2 @ 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

$5 – $10

Join The Vegan Synagogue Without Walls for our first ever Hafrashat Challah!

Hafrashat Challah (“separating of the bread”) is a program where we take a beautiful mitzvah (commandment) and combine it with making of plant based challah bread dough, meditation and learning about the Jewish and vegan connection to this ritual.

Evening includes light vegan kosher refreshments, eggless challah bread for everyone to take home and bake, meditation and more!

$5-$10 suggested donation.
Event is open to all backgrounds.
Female or female identifying women.
Hafrashat Challah is one of the Jewish commandments. For thousands of years, women have been baking challah and therefore this commandment has become special for women.
This mitzvah promotes the well being of family members and others. The time of baking challah is a time of meditation and one is encouraged to meditate or pray at that time, as well as think of any blessings they would like to bring into their lives and the lives of others. Some women have added in the custom of lighting a candle during this time as a special opportunity to connect with their spirituality.
