‘What You Do Matters’ Midwest Virtual Event

September 23 @ 12:00 PM

Free

At this year’s Midwest Virtual Event, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s flagship virtual event on Thursday, Sept. 23, thousands of supporters across the Midwest Region—Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; Boulder, Colo.; Chicago; Cleveland; Kansas City, Mo.; Milwaukee; St. Louis; Tulsa, Okla., among others—will unite virtually to support the vital mission of the Museum. They will learn how the Museum is building on its long-term digital investments to make each impactful moment within the Museum walls available outside of them—from teacher training, to leadership programs and scholarly exchange, and especially learning from survivors.

The event will feature Dr. Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, who shepherded the development in less than a year of a breakthrough Covid-19 vaccine. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, his parents were among the few Holocaust survivors of that historic Jewish community.

The annual “What You Do Matters” Risa K. Lambert event—which historically attracts up to 2,300 Chicagoans in-person, including hundreds of Holocaust survivors—is being chaired by Meredith Bluhm-Wolf and Bill Wolf, along with vice chairs Amy and Andy Bluhm; Leslie Bluhm and David Helfand; Karen and Steven Malkin; and Cari and Michael Sacks; and leaders from around the Midwest region. The Museum will also honor Sheila and Joe Gutman and their family for their dedication to the Museum and their leadership regionally and nationally.
