Event Details
Join Base Logan Square and Shalva for pre-Passover learning that explores the relationship between intimacy and freedom. We’ll look closely at the book of Exodus and how Pharaoh brutally subjugated the Jewish people in the Exodus story. What was Pharaoh’s motivation? What was Pharaoh’s goal? Was the subjugation of the Jewish people in the Exodus story all about economic exploitation? Then through Midrash we will explore how acts of intimacy and care attempted to resist this subjugation. We will further reflect on the relationship between intimacy and freedom. Join us for this opportunity to reflect on major themes of Passover. No prior experience with text study necessary. All are welcome! Address and details provided the day before the program.
