Event Details

Join the Temple Sholom community for a lively celebration of Mimouna, the Moroccan tradition of eating chametz and bread again after Passover! This festival is celebrated by many Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews, and consists of gathering with neighbors to enjoy music, dancing, and a feast of dairy, sweets, and leavened bread (including the traditional muffaletta). Mimouna is a time of celebrating friendship, community, coexistence, and blessings.

Together we’ll learn more about the tradition of Mimouna, eat some delicious leavened products and traditional desserts, and share our own cultures and traditions around the Passover holiday. We encourage guests to bring a dessert from your own tradition!

This event is sponsored by our Shalem community, Temple Sholom’s community group focused on lifting up the voices of Jews of Color and the experiences of multi-racial families in our community. Shalem expands our community’s knowledge of racially diverse Jewish experiences and builds our skills as a congregational community.

This event is open to everyone, and families with children are encouraged to attend! We’ll even have a special craft for kids to complete – don’t miss it!
