CYJ Mission:
Camp Young Judaea Midwest (CYJM) inspires Jewish children of diverse backgrounds
to thrive in a joyful, tight-knit community that is passionate about Israel and Judaism.
About:
CYJM is located in Waupaca, WI, with offices in Chicago, IL. The DO must be in
proximity to Chicago or Waupaca. Our camp is over 50 years old and is affiliated with
the Young Judaea youth movement, formally a part of Hadassah women’s organization.
CYJM’s catchment area runs from Pittsburgh to California and as far south as Arizona.
Director of Operations Responsibilities:
● Manages the logistics of the camp family experience including-
○ Website
○ Communications
○ Social media
○ Forms and intake
○ Billing scholarship
○ Transportation
● Database management
○ Donor, using Bloomerang platform
○ Camper, using CampMinder platform
● In collaboration with the year round team, The DO oversees set up and take
down camp of operations such as
○ Dining hall
○ Infirmary
○ Camp facilities
● During the summer season, the DO works out of and manages the welcome
office in Waupaca
○ The DO also sets up and oversees transportation of camp community
to/from Waupaca, including air and busing
Qualifications:
● Self starter
● Organized
● Strong work ethic
● Attention to detail
● Ability to work on a team
● Can manage multiple projects at one time
● Able to prioritize and reprioritize work as needed
● Willingness to take on any necessary roles and responsibilities to accomplish a
task
● Strong computer skills including Google Business, Microsoft Word, Facebook
and Instagram. Constant Contact and/or CampMinder a plus.
Additional Requirements
1. Must have the ability to spend ~12 weeks each summer in residence on
Wisconsin property and/or live in the Waupaca area
2. Ability to travel occasionally and work some weekend and evening events and
meetings
3. Must be 21+, safe driving record and the ability to pass a clean criminal
background check.
Compensation and Benefits
● Salary: Range of $45,000 – $50,000 based on credentials and experience
● Benefits: 100% covered health insurance, cell phone reimbursement, paid time
off (vacation, sick and Jewish/secular holidays), free camp tuition to children of
eligible age, flexible FT work hours during the off season
● If a candidate is interested in living on site year round, salary and benefits would
reflect this additional compensation.
