‘Tis the Season for endless Christmas Pop-Up bars and Chicago needs a Hannukah Miracle! The most unlikely of Macabees decided to solve this problem by turning the Graystone Tavern into the only Hanukah Pop-Up Bar in Chicago. Last year, two non-Jewish mensches, Sam Stone and Kyle Bagley, recognized Chicago is missing out on the miracle of Hanukkah and pulled out all of the stops. This year they are back again during COVID to bring some Hannukah merriment to Chicago.

Last year, Graystone Tavern debuted as a Jewish oasis decorated with over 8,000 blue and white lights, Jewish stars and dreidels, menorahs for days, a photo booth with Hanukkah props.

Mitzvahs Beyond Menorahs

We wanted to participate in the Wrigleyville holiday pop-up scene but wanted to be different. Many of our Jewish friends were urging us to do a Hanukkah pop up and with many of the Wrigleyville bars focusing on Christmas, we thought there was a void to fill,” said owner Kyle Bagley.
