Located just 45 minutes from Chicago in Lake Zurich, IL, Camp Chi’s day camp property offers the serenity of a countryside getaway with the amenities of a first-rate summer camp. Our home away from home is nestled on 37 sunny acres teeming with adventure and Midwestern charm.
Among the sprawling fields, you’ll find two large heated pools, a zipline to soar through the sky, beach volleyball, fire pits for gourmet s’mores, and all the sporting accouterments to turn open fields into athletic battlegrounds. The day is filled with capture the flag, arts ‘n’ crafts, color war, a magical Havdalah experience, culinary adventures, pool parties, silent disco, and so much more. Our Chicago Day Camp is the perfect mini escape to connect with new friends while disconnecting from the real world. The experience is yours to make what you want of it.

You’ll get to customize the day by choosing from over 35 classic and out-of-the-box camp activities. While we encourage you to try something new, you’re in charge of your own schedule. Between electives, check your camp mailbox, grab a snack at Bubbe’s Beer Garden, and embrace activities that make you forget to check your phone. No matter what you choose, there is surprise and delight layered into each part of the day. This weekend is yours to relax and recharge the way you want. Breakfast: meet bar. Enjoy a delicious breakfast spread, our signature mimosa bar, and of course, a gourmet coffee bar. Don’t forget to pick up your swag bag filled with goodies .
Meet the staff, get down at the silent disco ice breaker, and get to know your bunkmates (aka future besties) for the day!
Four teams. One champion. Team assignments will be sent in advance so you can arrive prepared to rack up those spirit points on the courts, in the gaga pit, and in the all-camp relay race.
FREE TIME & HAPPY HOUR
Relax at Bubbe’s Beer Garden or try out some informal activities: chill at the pool with a DJ, join a game of slip ‘n’ slide kickball, make some tie-dye, or just lay out in the sun and schmooze. You’ll have access to showers and locker rooms to freshen up before dinner. This time is yours to recharge the way you want.
As we say goodbye to Shabbat and welcome a new week, your senses will come alive in this unforgettable havdalah experience.
Every Trybal experiences concludes with an epic all-camp activity. There will also be a campfire with bevvies, music, and a gourmet s’mores bar under the stars to top off the night.
Getting To Camp
Apachi Day Camp is located in Lake Zurich, IL:
45 minutes from Chicago
1 hour from Milwaukee
15 minutes from O’Hare International Airport
Get out of the city stress-free by joining the free Camp Bus from Chicago. Buses will be departing from three locations in the city: Lakeview, Logan Square, and River North. Parking passes will be available for an additional fee.
Trybal STRONGLY encourage everyone to take the bus. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it’s the best way to meet people before the day begins. It also makes sure you arrive on time and, after a long day of fun, we’ll help you get home safely. Those who drive will not be served alcohol after 7:00 pm.
A number of inexpensive hotels are in the area for those who live farther away and wish to spent the night nearby.
