Who’s excited for our third annual Base Camp?! Base Camp is our yearly chance to take the Base vibe out of the city. It’s a beautiful weekend full of ropes course, singing, conversation, learning, prayer, yoga, Shabbat meals, nature walks, new and old friends, and time at the lake. Whether you’re a Base regular or new to our community, Base Camp is a special time to connect with others and take a deep breath. Registration is open now! Exact schedule to follow.
Q: Who is this retreat for?
A: For this retreat, we are only accepting applications from individuals who live in Chicago or plan to actively participate in the Base LNCLN community.
Q: How much will this retreat cost me?
A: To ensure the sustainability of this program for future community builders, we are charging a non-refundable $60 participation fee for the retreat which includes all of your meals and accommodations for the weekend. Additionally, there is a $100 refundable deposit to secure your spot on the retreat, which will be returned to you upon your completion of the post-retreat survey. We also offer generous travel subsidies. The participation fee will increase to $80 for those who register less than 30 days before the retreat.

Q: I am very active with Moishe House and have attended many Moishe House learning retreats. Does that affect my ability to participate in this retreat?
A: We greatly appreciate the involvement of our community members in our Jewish Learning Retreats. However, in order to broaden our constituent network and give more young adults the opportunity to experience our learning retreats, we are requesting that all retreat participants select two retreats per year to attend. Please refer to our 2024 retreats calendar, linked here, to evaluate which of our retreats you would like to apply for. If you are interested in attending more than two retreats this year, please send an email to retreats@moishehouse.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Q: Will this retreat be Shabbat observant?
A: Yes, our retreat will be accommodating the needs of those who observe Shabbat, and we will provide the necessary arrangements to ensure a meaningful and respectful Shabbat experience for all participants.
Q: Will I be able to get a refund if I decide to cancel my spot at this retreat?
A: Moishe House policy states that refunds of deposits and participation fees will only be provided for participants who cancel at least 30 days prior to the retreat. If you cancel less than 30 days before the retreat, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Located on 180 acres on the shore of Wooster Lake, Camp Nageela Midwest offers superb lodge and meeting facilities with outdoor education for even the most adventurous group. Recreational opportunities include kayaking, canoeing, paddleboating and swimming in Wooster Lake or enjoying the amenities of the pool facility or venues for sports such as basketball, softball, and soccer. Guests can also take their teambuilding skills to new heights with the low & high ropes course, zip line and climbing wall.
