In the Words of the Rebbe of the Warsaw Ghetto: Torah as Resistance – Learning Series

May 22 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

No cost

Over the course of four week, we will look closely at four different drashot from Aish Kodesh, a collections of discourses on the weekly Torah portion by Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapiro, also known as the Rebbe of the Warsaw Ghetto. Aish Kodesh is a book composed during Rabbi Shapiro’s time in the Warsaw Ghetto before he was tragically murdered by the Nazis. Together we will reflect on how Rabbi Shapiro uses the language of traditional Jewish texts to articulate a vision of resilience and resistance at a particularly dark moment. Come and explore these texts and the questions that arise from them together. Address and details provided the evening before the event.

Note: Some of these sessions are taken from earlier learning series at Base Logan Square. If you’ve already learned some this material with Rav Moshe before, you are still more than welcome to join this cohort!

This form will close the evening of Tuesday, May 14th
