Who is the Yahel fellowship for?
Our fellowship includes individuals from diverse countries, religious backgrounds, and academic and professional experience. Each year, we accept fellows who demonstrate leadership capacity, an eagerness to learn, and a commitment to rolling up their sleeves to put in hard work. Our 2020-2021 cohort includes fellows from India, Belgium, Argentina, Netherlands, Greece, USA, Canada, and Australia. Among the fellows are energetic educators, artists, those with backgrounds in social work and psychology, aspiring lawyers, and fellows building careers as human rights activists, to name just a few. You can read about our current fellows here.
What does the fellowship include?
Fellows are in different volunteer and internship placements in the cities of Lod, Rishon LeZion, and Haifa, working with staff of local schools, community centers, non-profits, and activist groups. The fellowship also prioritizes in-depth learning about Israeli society and social issues, professional development workshops, Hebrew and Arabic courses, day trips and learning seminars, and countless meetings with local and national leaders in Israel.
