Sukkot Congregational Service with Temple Sholom

October 18 @ 6:15 PM - 8:00 PM

Join the Temple Sholom community in prayer as we celebrate Sukkot, one of the most joyful festivals on the Jewish calendar. “Sukkot,” a Hebrew word meaning “booths” or “huts,” refers to the Jewish festival of giving thanks for the fall harvest. The holiday has also come to commemorate the 40 years of Jewish wandering in the desert after the giving of the Torah atop Mt. Sinai.

Sukkot also reminds us just how vulnerable it can feel to have a temporary dwelling place, and to be grateful for what we have. With this in mind, we’ll also be completing a service activity, by assembling to-go toiletry kits for our Monday Meal guests. Adults and children alike will feel good knowing that they are giving back to the community during our celebration.

Join us for a pre-service reception at 5:45 PM, followed by our Sukkot congregational service at 6:15 PM. Continue the celebration with us after the service, where we’ll gather for a festive congregational event featuring cider donuts, popcorn, and mini pies! Enjoy these delicious autumn treats in the sukkah as we embrace the cozy vibes of the season.

Please register in advance to help us ensure a warm welcome for all and to minimize food waste. Register for the pre-service reception and Sukkot celebration here!
