Where are you from:

Northbrook, Illinois

When did you start your business?

I started crabby abbey baby & kids 18 years ago in the summer of 2003.

Where is your business located?

We are based out of Northbrook but do trunk shows and events all over the Northern suburbs, the city, and South Florida

What products/services does your business offer?

We design, manufacture, and sell cool and unique clothes for kids- boys & girls, ages baby to 12 years.

Tell us about yourself!

I have always been artistic and entrepreneurial and have truly enjoyed the journey of running my own company and seeing how it has evolved over the years. I love the beach, pool and all things summer! I’m a doting aunt to 2 super nephews and a sweet niece.

What do you do for fun?

I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog and family & friends. I also travel to Florida for several weeks every year to do events and enjoy the ocean air. I’m looking forward to rejoining a yoga studio post-pandemic.

What did you do Jewish growing up?

I attended Hebrew and religious school as well as confirmation classes at my temple. My family always attended high holiday services and celebrated all of the Jewish holidays. We also participated in several temple-sponsored family retreats. Some of my fondest young adulthood memories are summers at Camp Chi. In college, I joined a Jewish sorority and made lifelong friends.

How did you stay motivated during the Pandemic with a small business?

I had to totally change my business model from- in-person events to selling solely online. As a result, I have reached a completely new clientele and connected with many other wonderful small businesses that I otherwise would not have. So it wasn’t all bad!

What is unique about your business?

My business is unique in that it has evolved and changed to weather 18 years and counting! When I started in 2003, the internet barely existed, let alone smartphones and social media.

What are your goals for your business?

My goals are to continue growing, pushing my creative boundaries, and making customers happy!
