What did you do Jewish growing up?

Summer camp! I started as a day camper at my synagogue… And then went on to be a CIT at Camp Newman and a staff member for 6 years at Camp Kalsman. I was also fairly involved at the synagogue I grew up at, Temple Menorah, participating in youth group activities, and working as a songleader/ madricha.

What do you do for fun/to relax?

I sing and make music with my awesome-ly talented friends. I’m currently singing with TWO a cappella groups– shout out to Listen Up! and Lakeshore Dynamics! Beyond that, you can catch me at a Corepower Yoga class, on the roof at LVAC, at karaoke , or bullet journaling at a cute coffee shop.

Where is your favorite spot to do Karaoke?

Torn between Louie’s Pub in Wicker and and Brando’s Speakeasy in the Loop. Honestly, as long as they have Little Mermaid’s Part of Your World, it’s a good spot!

What is your favorite Jewish Chicago Event?

Shabbat dinners with new friends and old friends!

What is your favorite way to spend shabbat?

With friends unwinding from the week. I love hosting Shabbat dinners and either jamming out or playing board games after!

What is the role of Jewish music in your life?
Jewish music has always played a fairly significant role in my life. I remember being in awe with the song-leaders my first summer at over night camp. I thought to myself that one day I wanted to be one of them, leading a community together in song. I taught myself guitar, and shortly after, found myself teaching music in the religious school I grew up in. Ever since then, I eagerly take any opportunity to lead a community together in prayer and song.

Special Mazal Tov to Kadi!

What are you most excited about in this new role?
If you know me, I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about my pipe dream of being a part of a Jewish a cappella group– I mean come on, it meshes together all my passions. As a founding member of Lakeshore Dynamics, it felt wild to try to start a second a cappella group to accomplish this goal. When I saw the posting that Listen Up! was looking for a fourth singer, it felt b’sheret!! I am excited to learn new Jewish music, perform and meet new Jewish communities around the world, and to really become a part of the Listen Up! family!
Where are you excited most to travel to?
Honestly, anywhere. I love to travel (who doesn’t?!) and I love seeing new towns and cities. I’ve been to a decent amount of the states, but would love to eventually reach all 50!!

When the tribe gathers… I’m ready for a good time!
