Virtual or In-Person High Holiday Services 2021 Central Synagogue of Chicago

Registration for Young Professionals and students is totally free! Contributions are appreciated but not required.

Join Central Synagogue this year for inspiring Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services led by Rabbi Daniel Atwood.

Due to Covid, this year we are inviting everyone else regardless of how much they contribute.

All Central Synagogue services will accessible both Live and Streamed on Zoom with Rabbi Daniel Atwood and Cantor Menachem Kohl


All Services will be available on Zoom

Important Note: The Erev Rosh Hashanah service will ONLY be available on Zoom.

This year, Central Synagogue is using a different live location in downtown Chicago. Due to Covid, they are limiting the number of people at the live services.

Kol Nidre – Wednesday, September 15 – 6:45 PM – 9:00 PM
Yom Kippur Day – Thursday, September 17 – 9:00 AM
Yom Kippur Afternoon *Mincha, Neilah – Final Shofar – Thursday, September 17 – START TBA


About Rabbi Daniel Atwood

Rabbi Daniel Atwood holds a BA Summa Cum Laude in Psychology and Jewish Studies from Yeshiva University and was ordained in Israel by Yashrut in 2019 under Rabbi Daniel Landes. He has taught at Solomon Schechter in Northbrook and is now teaching at the Anshe Emet Day School in Chicago. Rabbi Atwood is a renowned lecturer and scholar on power and social dynamics in the faith community. He lives with his husband in Lakeview.

We are looking forward to an inspiring, traditional, and inclusive service at central synagogue of Chicago! After what has been a challenging year for so many, this is the perfect opportunity to gather, whether in person or online, to pray, sing, learn, and be together as we usher in the new year. No matter your age or wear you are coming from, we invite you to join us!
