Jeremie’s Favorite Rosh Hashanah Apple Cake Recipe for 2019

If you are feeling up for making a homemade dessert this year, stop by the farmers market, pick up five of your favorite apples and try out this simple crowd pleasing recipe!

Ingredients:

5 apples (I like the tartness of Granny Smith)

2 eggs

1 cup flour

¾ cup sugar

¾ cup oil

1 tsp baking powder

1 tbs vanilla

Cooking Instructions:

Set oven to 350

Peel apples, cut apples in half and then slice into ¼ inch slices, set aside.

In a bowl whisk oil, sugar, eggs, once incorporated add remaining ingredients.  Batter will have a paste like consistency. Pour apples in batter and mix well. The cake is more apple than batter so just make sure the apples are coated as evenly as possible.

Spay the bottom of an 8×8 pan with Pam.  Pour in the apple mixture and use a spatula to spread evenly in the pan.

Sprinkle the top of the cake with cinnamon and sugar and bake for 50 minutes.
