Thursday, April 2nd 7:30pm Central time

This event brought to you by ChiTribe, Anshe Emet YAD , and JUF YLD

Next Thursday April 2nd, join the VIRTUAL Bar Mitzvah Bash 2020. All you need is a computer with Zoom and Spotify and yourself. Join YAD, YLD, ChiTribe as we bring the Chicago Young Adult Community together for a night of dancing. These are dances you know, you love, maybe you hate… but you still are going to dance next Thursday because what else are you doing.

Happy Hours are not easy to coordinate online, it is still important to have a space for gathering. What is better than a throwback Bar Mitzvah party hosted by friendly faces? See you Thursday at 7:30pm https://bit.ly/virtualbarmitzvah

Dress up like you’re going to the club, going to a bar mitzvah, or come in your pajamas.

We’ll have a Spotify playlist OR mute yourself and dance to your own tunes.

Come for any or all of it (7:30pm-8:30pm)

Judgement-free zone.

All are welcome!

SOCIAL DISDANCING: HOW TO GUIDE!

Click this link to join the Zoom meeting: https://bit.ly/virtualbarmitzvah

We’ll share the bar mitzvah music through Zoom, so there’s nothing more you need to do. We love seeing your moves, so turning your camera on is highly recommended. We also recommend putting Zoom into the “gallery view” to see everyone else dancing together! To do so, click the grid icon on the top right corner or your screen.

For folks wanting to stream the music alongside us (for potentially louder/better audio quality), each party’s mix is available here on Spotify. *Link coming soon*

We’ll do a 3-2-1 countdown to start together, and latecomers can ask for a timestamp to get sync’d up! To utilize this option, you’ll need to turn the audio off in Zoom by clicking “leave computer audio” in the pop-up menu next to the microphone icon on the bottom left of your screen.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We will begin the party at 7:30pm central—join whenever. We invite you to turn your camera on if you want to!

Our chat stays active—it’s awesome when folks drop a line with where they’re dis-dancing in from. This is a chance to interact and say hi to people you wish you were dancing with IRL.

The first song is usually of the “warm up” variety, giving you a chance to transition into this online space. After that, expect line dances and Bar Mitzvah classics. There will be a HORAH*
