Jeff and Judes is a new deli (pandemic opening!) in Ukrainian Village with Ashkenazi-style dishes and other Jewish deli classics. For Rosh Hashanah, Jeff and Judes is offering an entire dairy-free menu that will include reheat instructions. Pick-ups will be Thursday 9/17 and Friday 9/18 from 4 pm-7 pm.

Manny’s Cafeteria and Delicatessen

Manny’s is a classic Jewish style deli located in the South Loop. As many of you saw and supported, Manny’s deli used social media during COVID “to plead for support and let the community know ‘We are struggling. This isn’t a joke.’” Read more in the Chicago Tribune.

This high holiday season, Manny’s is offering pickup in locations throughout the greater Chicagoland area. All orders must be placed online and prepaid for parties of 1-10.

Sam & Gertie’s, a new Vegan Deli in the city, is named after Andy Kalish’s maternal grandparents. Sam & Gertie’s features a deli case filled with plant-based versions of traditional Jewish delicatessen items, including vegan smoked salmon, knishes, latkes, egg and tuna salads, as well as hot sandwiches filled with brisket and schmaltz. Steingold’s Deli

Former Jewish person of the week Aaron Steingold is the mastermind behind Steingold’s. The Steingold’s classic Bagel and Lox is a quarantine comfort food. Steingold’s is the only place in Chicago you can get house-cured lox. The Eleven City Diner is a hybrid of what family “dining rooms” used to be.  To keep up with the COVID times, Eleven City has its own app for you to order carryout or local delivery.
