We are members of a “halakhic movement” as Conservative Jews, but what does that mean? Halakhic discourse has been at the heart of debates within our movement and others regarding gender and obligation, sexuality, marriage and divorce, and so many other issues that intersect with core areas of our identities and lives. Over four sessions we will explore together what this thing called “halakha” really is and if it is even possible to talk about a “halakhic system” at all.
