We will start at Shelter Grove 1 in the Nature preserve and head north on the North Branch Yellow unpaved trail, then wind around and take the Orange unpaved back to the lot.
80% easy with 20% moderate areas. Mostly natural surface trails, crushed limestone, gravel or hard packed dirt. It’s a flat trail except minor dips into dried up creek bed.
The hike is all forested with views of the North Branch of the Chicago River.
All ages are welcome. Kids welcome!
