Immigration Justice Cohort

February 26 @ 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 8:00 PM on Monday, repeating until February 26, 2024

Have you been seeing migrants around Chicago and wondering how we got to this point and how you can help? Join a cohort of folks who want to do a deep dive into one of the most pressing justice issues of our generation. In partnership with HIAS, we’ll look at the history of refugee and asylum in America, the current situation at the sourthern border and in Chicago, and do some looking at Jewish texts and history to help us think about how we relate to these issues not just as Americans but as Jews. Then we will hear from experts doing direct service and advocacy work in immigration in Chicago to learn about how we, as individuals and as a Base community, can get involved locally! And you can expect snacks and drinks and good conversation as always 🙂
