On the Eve of Destruction: Erev 9 b’Av in the Warsaw Ghetto, 1942, with Dr. David I. Bernstein

Despite 20 months of terrible overcrowding, starvation, disease, and murders, the vast majority of the Warsaw Ghetto’s residents were still alive on Erev 9 b”Av, 1942. Within 3 months that would no longer be the case. On the anniversary of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, we will examine this microcosm of the “hurban” (destruction) of European Jewry.
